Gallery 600 was brought to life by Abby Laughlin, whose passion for Fort Lauderdale’s mid-century architecture sparked both the gallery and her debut book, A Moment in Time. What began as a personal exploration of the city’s post-war design legacy quickly grew into a space dedicated to preserving and celebrating that era through art, objects, and storytelling.

Abby’s work — from her hand-colored architectural drawings to the curation of Gallery 600 — reflects a deep appreciation for the buildings and designers that shaped Fort Lauderdale Beach between 1945 and 1965. Through the gallery, she has created a place where history, creativity, and community come together, honoring a defining chapter of the city’s past while inviting visitors to experience it in a new way.
